Fire Razes Departmental Building In ATBU Bauchi
Students and residents of the university community who were on ground when the fire broke out scampered for safety while efforts were made to control the fire from spreading to other parts of the university.
There was a fire outbreak that razed the housing department of Agricultural Sciences, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.
The source of the fire incident, which occurred in the evening of Wednesday a few minutes after 8pm at the Gubi permanent campus of the university along Kano road is yet to be ascertained.

A source from the University disclosed to DAILY POST that the fire incident occurred when the building was almost empty, thereby reducing the possibility of casualties but said that valuable documents and other items were destroyed by the fire outbreak.
The source, however, said there were no human casualties as men of the university fire service acted promptly and were able to put the fire under control.
All efforts to get official confirmation from the University authorities proved abortive as of the time of filing this report.
No official of the University was ready to make comments but the information was sketchy.
