Legion Baseball scholarship

This is a scholarship for high school baseball players who are on the current American Legion National Baseball rooster that has been filled with national headquarters. Any team manager or head coach can nominate a player for consideration in the award or each department Baseball Committee selects a player from the department to receive this scholarship.

More than 3,400 teams and nearly 55,000 youths participate in the program yearly from all 50 states in America and Canada

Each year, the American legion awards several scholarships to deserving members of baseball players, depending on the number of applicants and interest earned from the trust fund, the recipient must use the scholarship to attend any state-accredited post-secondary school.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The player should:

  • Have graduated from high school
  • Be part of a team affiliated with an American Legion post
  • Be on a current roster (American Legion National Baseball Electronic Registration Form ) filed with national headquarters
  • Copy of high school transcript
  • Must study full time
  • Be on a current rooster of American Legion post
  • Have three letters of testimony attached to the application

Scholarship amount ranges from $500 -$5000

Number of awards 10

Deadline for application 15th July 2022

Each certified Department Baseball scholarship winner shall be considered for the American Legion All-Academic team, which is sponsored by Diamond Sports, annually.

Scholarship recipients are eligible to receive their scholarships immediately upon graduation from an accredited high school. This scholarship must utilize the total award within eight (8) years of their graduation date.
